Marudhar Express is a fun on Hindi Drama produced by Raj Kushwaha. Movie is based on the simple concept which discusses the pressure of childbirth post Arranged Marriage which you can easily presume after watching its trailer.
Movie is directed and written by Vishal Mishra who also directed popular film Coffee with D. This movie is Produced under the banner of Raywings Entertainment. Kunal Roy kapur, Tara Alisha Berry and Rajesh Sharma are in lead roles. Earlier it was titled as Hum Dono Honge Kaamyaab
Film revolves around the story of Marudhar played by Kunaal. He is an Introvert person, who doesn’t believe he can do anything. He is portrayed as a boring person living with his father in a town in UP. He is a indecisive boy who cannot take decision in his life. He is always overwhelmed by his emotions, living a aimless life without an ambition to achieve something. He has full belief that he is an embarrassment for others. He is very shy around girls. He doesn’t had any girlfriend before and also doesn’t even think of being with someone. He is convinced that he cannot do anything in life.
His father Ashok Pandey is played by veteran actor Rajesh Sharma. He is shown to be a womaniser and watches porn films. He is a widower and believes in living life to the fullest.
He is a tyrant father and wants his son to get married and won’t take no for an Answer. He pressurises him to find a girl on his own. Seeming his plan going to drain, so he decided to plan an Arrange wedding for him. He goes to Lucknow to meet the daughter of a family friend and says yes to marriage after meeting the girl.

Later film takes a hilarious turn when Marudhar gets married with a cute girl of Lucknow named Chitra Played by Tara Alisha. She is a smart, witty and modern girl, who has been in relationships before. She wants to open her own beauty parlour. Later comes the fun part as Marudhar is a kind of a person scared of talkng to girls, has no experience in dealing with women, didn’t have a girlfriend before. So when Chitra enters his life, who is a bold, funny and fun loving person, they embark a beautiful journey full of fun, emotions, drama etc. The couple struggles initially as Kunal is a inexperienced at sex and Chitra is full with experiments. He isn’t able to perform initially due to performance pressure.
Later on their Honeymoon, he gets all jealous as they walk into chitra’s ex boyfriend. Soon he gives up and wants to part away from chitra as he believes, he is meant for marriage but an old couple convinces him to give another shot to his marriage.
The problem arises when his father forces him to have a child right after their marriage. The story is tuned in a hilarious manner along with giving a social Message.
Film is set in a small town in kanpur and talks about the small love story of a newly married couple. The involvement of his father with his absurd challenges and his two childhood friends with their ridiculous suggestions and Chitra carefree outlook , makes this more fun and entertaining.
Director Vishal Mishra stated that his intention was to make a family entertainer film with which a normal people can easily connect. But somehow, story couldn’t deliver what it meant to. Seemed like a half baked script along with weak dialogues. The direction was’t surely not up to the mark. Failed to Execute the zest of the film.
It doesn’t captivate the audience for a longer. The first half was meant to create the plot of the film with introduction and conditions of Marudhar and other characters which seemed to be a little over done and the second half doesn’t do justice with the first one.
The screenplay was also not upto the mark at some places but the background score surely did its best.
This film is a slice of life drama which you should watch if you are fan of Kunal Roy Kapoor. He nailed his performance but other characters seem to overact. What you would definitely love will be the build-up towards a life Changing Situation in the marudhar’s life.
